Dr. Albo and I met in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the 1970s, as I was beginning my art career.
Bob Albo was a practicing surgeon and the team doctor for the Oakland Raiders and the Golden State Warriors. With incredible energy the man had, and still has, a deep passion for the world of magic and collecting rare hand-made apparatus, as well as chronicling Magic and Magicians in American History.
He is renowned by the entire magic community for his Magic Apparatus Collection the largest of its kind in the world. The two of us are still working together and I am illustrating his series of DVDs on magic as well as more supplements to the 12 Volume Series. These drawings 'illustrate' my evolution as a pen & ink artist from the first drawing in 1973 to the one I am working on this month: OKITO ENCORE. It's been a magic carpet ride to be a part of this incredible book series that is privately printed and sold directly to magicians and collectors.
